Kevin Klevjer, LMHC

I work with adults, and adolescents in individual therapy in the SODO neighborhood of Seattle and online throughout Washington state via telehealth. I operate from an understanding that all humans need connection, although many of us struggle relationally. I work with clients who have difficulty with depression and/or anxiety, relationship issues, struggles with grief, and those who have suffered spiritual trauma.

Martin Buber once said, “All real living is meeting.” We as humans seem built for connection, for meeting, for encounter. We thrive when we are able to see and feel seen by others. I explore these themes with my clients through talk therapy.  My aim is to assist clients in gaining a greater sense of belonging and to live a more integrated and authentic life.

I love getting to work with clients as a therapist, and I love the privilege of leading players through therapeutic games of D&D, as well! I was honored to complete a Therapeutic Game Master certification program with Geek Therapeutics and thoroughly enjoy whenever I get to facilitate play to help others therapeutically. See our Encounter D&D page for more information on how to join our therapeutic gaming experience.

I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts from Whitworth University. I have experience working with an arts nonprofit focused on building community around creativity and have worked as a case manager, helping men in recovery. I also enjoyed counseling children and adolescents as an intern therapist at Sound and spent two years working at Mary’s Place helping homeless families find housing.

In addition to being a therapist, I enjoy longboarding, playing Dungeons and Dragons (of course!), and playing with my kids.

To schedule a session or to connect concerning any further questions, please email me at kevin@encounterpsychotherapy.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
